This class period I continued to skim through the book Mr. Vinluan gave me and take notes. I also tried finding interviews with women and with men about how each of them feel they are affected by the topic.
I was reading about the cultural expectations of men like to be strong, violent, dominant, etc. and where they learn it from (family, TV, movies, media). I thought it was interesting when they talked about how this also varies between racial and ethnic groups, but that didn't really have any relevance towards my topic. I'm starting to make connections between the socialization they talk about in the book and the way women are presented in media (from the interviews I've been watching and form the videos and articles from class).
